Skoda Yeti (2009 - 2017)
2.0TDI SCR 150 SE L DSG 4X4 5dr SUV
Superb rugged family car
Replaced our long suffering 2005 Passat Estate as the main family car when we moved back to the wilds of Yorkshire. As a big family, interior space is the first thing on the shopping list. I'm 6'3", wife is 5'11" and 2 sons 6'4" and 6'9" and we all fit comfortably, the interior is spacious with ample head and shoulder room unlike 99% of its competitiors (and why the Karoq is no good to us). Boot is big enough for any occasion, but has the one thing i would change, The floor has a loose carpet/mdf thing that you would find in a hatchback and is just too flimsy, the Passat was all steel even the spares cover and the Yeti should be the same.
I've used the Yeti in every type of horrible weather and even with standard tyres on it performed admirably. The off-road mode is surprisingly effective especially if you take a little air out of the tyres.
It has only developed 1 fault in the last 40,000mls which was the rear wiper started parking in the middle of the screen, but popped into York main dealer to book it in and the service guy popped out and fixed it in seconds. excellent service.
We get a move on when driving but still get mid to high 40mpg's out of it.
The SEL model is well specced and is a very comfortable place to be and I'd recommend one to anybody looking for a family car that can do soft-roading.
