Skoda Yeti (2009 - 2017)
1.2 S TSI
Not as reliable as hoped.
Bought from main dealer. Suspected that vehicle had not been checked properly by dealer, as rear brake cylinders jammed.
Within a year at 45,900 miles timing chain found to be stretched and was replaced. Dealer tried to tell me that I would have to pay full price but after my talking direct to Skoda UK, the price was reduced considerably.
Two door electrical looms have been replaced. O/s June 2015 and N/s November 2014.
Now at 67,000 miles Sept 2017 timing chain stretched again and will need replacement.
I gather that timing chains have been replaced by belts in newer models from around 2015.
Interestingly my friend who introduced me to this type of car had his engine replaced after the timing chain failed.
Otherwise the vehicle is just what I needed and I would probably purchase another 1.2 version but with the newer cam belt but certainly not from the same dealer.
