Excellent all round vehicle

I collected my Yeti after a 5 month wait. It was worth it. As it was December the first thing I did was fit winter tyres.

We then drove up to Scotland in it at about a week old, in the snow and ice. What a revelation. So easy to drive, so comfortable over long distances. I will add I selected the electric seat which makes getting the right position very easy both both of us.

I have since covered over 30,000 miles. Unfortunately, most of them have been around South London, and frequently in heavy traffic, so the fuel economy is not great at about 37.5mpg average over 31,000 miles. It will do over 50mpg, on the motorway, but you need to keep the speed down under 70mph, as the aerodynamics are not great, but saying that it is an excellent motorway cruising vehicle.

The DSG is simply brilliant. It is the best 'automatic' I have ever driven. I have had a flappy paddle multifunction steering wheel retro-fitted which really makes the car more enjoyable to use in 'manual' mode and gives you more control over the gearbox from your fingertips. I wish Skoda would offer it as a factory option like they do with the Octavia and the Superb.

The Yeti is awesome off road, but you do have to watch ground clearance, you can play with the 'big boys' in their big 4x4's, but just be careful where you drive and be aware of the limitations of the Yeti.
I have been most impressed with the Yeti. To me it has been the most complete car I have owned. It does everything I ask of it well, there doesn't seem to be any area which it isn't good in.

Except boot space. I have the factory spare wheel which reduces boot space.
I had an Octavia Estate mk2 before and a BMW e39 5 series Touring before that. The boot is about the same size as the Touring, but much smaller than the Octavia's boot which is huge. You just learn to pack vertically instead, and use the varioflex seating and slide the rear outer seats forward.
Shame the centre seat does not slide forward. But they do all come out, and then you have a van!

So I now have a 5 seat car, a 4x4, and a van. All in one.

Would I buy another. In one word......YES.
