Skoda Yeti (2009 - 2017)
1.8 Elegance TSi
Ticks all the boxes.
The 1.8TSI engine in my Yeti is fantastic, after several rattly diesels in he past it is a joy to get behind the wheel of such a smooth and powerful performer. I have covered 11,000 miles in five months and so far averaged 32mpg. Not bad when much of that is stuck in traffic getting into London. However it is out in the countryside where the Yeti excels. Smooth and quiet on the motorway, agile and fun on B roads and very capable in our recent snowy weather. The 4x4 transmission has proved useful and unobtrusive to use.
The Yeti is a small car, that looks large, feels small and is more than spacious enough for 5 to travel long distances with a full complement of passengers and luggage. Easy to park and equipped with almost every gadget available you never feel shortchanged. Buying an ex-demo car from a dealer wishing to dispose of the unpopular petrol motor was a good move as it will take many thousands of miles before the additional cost of petrol will be more than the discount obtained.
I have had the car serviced and one or two little items attended to under warranty. The two dealers I have visited have provided excellent service and returned the car clean each time. Full marks to Skoda, it's dealers and the Yeti itself.
