Skoda Yeti (2009 - 2017)
2.0 TDI SCR 110ps SE 5dr SUV
Lost its appeal
I really like my two Yetis but I'm afraid the shine went after the Dieselgate fix. The car was comfortable, roomy, reliable and until the fix economical.
After the fix economy dropped to average 36mpg from 47mpg. It also smelled of diesel burning when stationary. Went back to the dealer twice who fixed the rough running but no other improvements.
I had to have a new gearbox at about 45k miles which dented my confidence. My previous petrol Yeti had to have an out of warranty replacement of timing chain and peripherals paid for by Skoda at 50k too.
Newer cars have better specs so mine without Bluetooth and satnav seemed quite archaic. So it was time for a change and a lack of interest from the dealer sent me elsewhere and I'm now the very happy owner of a Renault Kadjar.
Sorry Skoda. I feel sad at the parting of the ways after 10 years with the brand. Perhaps I will return to the fold with my next car.
I must stress that the Yeti was reliable, roomy and well built. It's just a shame the dieselgate scandal got in the way.
