Skoda Yeti (2009 - 2017)
2.0TDI SCR 150 SE L DSG 4X4 5dr SUV
An excellent and spacious all-rounder in a compact package
This car was a replacement for a 2012 model Yeti that I ran for 40,000 miles and thoroughly enjoyed.
Pros:
Spacious and well equipped interior.
The best headlights I have ever had on a car. Well controlled on dip, phenomenal on high beam and the cornering function is excellent.
Infotainment system is far better than previous model.
Decent acceleration and torque matched to rapid DSG gearbox.
Huge carrying capacity with rear seats folded forward and vast capacity with them removed.
Better fuel consumption than previous model: 42 mpg in winter to 47 mpg in summer.
Compact dimensions. It doesn't look it but it is smaller than a new VW Golf (just).
Cons:
It has the aerodynamics of a brick so fuel consumption is strongly speed dependant and the back gets dirty quickly.
The boot is small but easily enlarges by moving the rear seats.
The ride is slightly firmer than the previous model, but this might be the Goodyear as opposed to Dunlop tyres.
