I meant the speed of the driver that hit him !! Which is why I said that the other car could not have been doing the speed limit, this is based on the movement of the victim after it was hit.

Dick Turpin was a highway robber who never gave refunds either.

At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask!

I'm having a 94 fireblade, the one which has twin headlights, sat idle in a garage in England. Now i used to live most of the time in sweden, so I'm not sure what to do with it.

All the equipment is original, except the floppy indicators and stripped the flaking balck off the original ally exhaust. Also, there is a small ding the tank, and the head lights have a bit of rust on their surface. Apart from these, evertthing is fine and in good condition. ... Read more

Yesterday I removed the TR7's cam cover and spent much of the sunny afternoon removing the carbon deposited on the inside surface from the breather pipe. Last time it was removed was in 1987 at 41,100 miles to check the valve clearances. Thankfully, no adjustment was required as it would have needed the camshaft removing and swapping shims around. Today I will check the clearances to see if they have changed in the intervening 30,000 miles. Read more

Where other petrol stations are near to supermarkets, why not just close the supermarket filling station and re-deploy the staff? The supermarkets are currently raking in the money because there are no offers on produce and they are effectively the only game in town.

Then the local filling stations could get a boost back to near normal sales. Read more

Dunno, what is the acceptable death rate of people left desolate when the economy is on its back side, businesses people built up over a lifetime are destroyed and hundreds of thousands of people without jobs to return to, bills mounting and the genuine possibility of mass repossessions, losing homes after years trying to keep up mortgages they would never have contemplated had normal interest rates and natural population increases applied, how many of those will die early.

Quite apart from the people who weren't allowed to see their loves ones as death approached, close relatives shouldering guilt that they couldn't be there, and can't even attend the funeral....

Is it just a poor paint repair to a wing? If so and the car is otherwise good I’d let them repair it. A VW main dealer will have a good repair done. I’ve had the bumper painted on my Polo by our local dealer after a mechanic reversed into a bollard and the quality was first class. I wouldn’t reject a car based on this. It’s a used car and minor paint repairs are not an issue if repaired properly. Yes it should’ve been done. It might not have been noticed or they just hoped that you (like 90% of others) wouldn’t notice it. Most don’t look that close.

Hi all
Go to buy a snow foam kit to try in my car. What do I need to buy ? I have a pressure washer do I need a specific attachment? Also will a snow foam damage paintwork that has been touched up. I have a few stone chips and some paintwork in the bumper that has been touched up? Will it be too strong and damage these areas?
Thanks Read more

You need a snow foam 'gun.' This is really a special lance with a bottle to hold the snow foam mix that fits your pressure washer. You need to buy a snowfoam 'gun' suitable for your pressure washer as these can be make specific. Again, visit a reputable car detailing web shop and search through the products to find the right one.

Snowfoam will NOT damage any paintwork even touch up paint. There are many makes of snowfoam out there. Some quite foamy and some not. Again, reading the product review helps....

I'm afraid after having five German (company) cars the build quality is a myth. (I do 40,000 miles a year)

Impressively large and consistent bills though.
