The best anti theft protection for a car, especially one which is used infrequently, is a secure locked garage. Unfortunately many people fill their garages with bikes, freezers, lawnmowers, in fact everything except the car. Read more

OK, so small petrol garages face financial problems, I can understand that. BUT in SW London Shell does not have the same degree of worry. So why is its petrol still selling over the £1.20 mark and V Power at another 15p? Anything to do with greed? Oh, there's an exception to this outrageous scam. Being next door to an ASDA garage is probably the answer.
So I have handed my car back to the finance company. As we are in lockdown I thought, that it would be best to hand the car back and save a couple of grand, as I had two years left to pay on an HP. Also with some money saved I could use that as a deposit. I work currently as an Electrician, as a Trainee so I won't be getting a works vehicle for a number of years until the boss renews the fleet I would imagine.

I'd suggest first of all leaving it in park if it's an auto, or putting a brick behind a wheel if it's a manual.
If that solves the problem, then as others suggest it's a brake service....
Hi I’ve recieved a letter today from a debt agency for hundreds of pounds relating to a court case brought by the DVLA that I failed to appear at last year as I was unaware of it.
Long story short, I failed to update my v5 when I moved house a couple of years ago and only realised last year when I recieved a fine through the post for 80 pounds from a different debt agency saying that I’d not got any valid car tax(I pay 30pounds a year and normally just wait for the reminder to come through) but because I’d not updated my v5(I had updated my driving license) and stupidly forgot to do so I paid the fine and went to the post office to buy a new v5 as I couldn’t find my old one and to pay a years tax at the same time.... With fuel retailers having a oversupply of fuel right not and lots being stuck with (old) petrol and diesel they purchased befor the fall in price of oil could there be a risk of stale petrol?... Read more
I guess that those places with a convenience store will be able to survive, and many do. A lot of fuel is bought at supermarkets so they are OK. In the end the refineries will cut back when there's nowhere to pump the stuff. I doubt there will be a lot of 'stale' petrol to worry about.
The manual for my Honda requires the battery to be disconnected if the car is standing for more than a month. In my experience, there is barely enough power left after a month to start the engine. Read more
I bought a Ctek mxs 5 trickle charger and charged a polo battery up nicely however when I tried to connect and recharge a flat Lexus RX 400h 2009 it failed to start charging or start the 8 step process at all. The clamps were definitely connected properly. Please help! Is it because the 12v battery is on a hybrid?
Points look quite blackened, with the "classic" pit and pip metal transfer damage, and not much metal left.

Going by what I recall from vacuum gauges back in the (cough) '60s, the green area was maximum vacuum.
Although I believe there is a train of thought that it's more economical to accelerate briskly to cruising speed and then back off, rather than slowly accelerate to cruising speed....
With colossal car price inflation in recent times (i.e. every time a model is replaced it is accompanied by a huge price hike e.g. Volkswagen Golf, Hyundai i10, Peugeot 208 etc.) forcing many into finance packages in order to 'afford' a new car rather than an outright purchase, I can't help but feel like this Coronavirus nonsense is going to hurt the car industry much more than people think.
By charging an ever-increasing fortune for their cars (like some entry-level mainstream small hatches now starting from the mid-twenty thousands) they are acquiring a load of unpaid debt via finance packages on car sales (that are depreciating hugely in value with every second that passes) instead of a nice cleared balance from a cash sale.
Some would call it karma..... Read more
Thank you for reading my post. But I appreciate it. I'll explain vehicle loans to you. You can get good car finance at a good price with the aid of our car financing provider. I'm hoping that everyone looking for a comparable item will find this helpful.
Not imo. Parking restrictions aren't applied by population volume, they are applied to geographically defined areas....
