has anybody experienced the NhS salary sacrifice scheme?

Except, as I understand it - the Golf being 'blamed' (the coroner has yet to report their conclusions) was a manual not a DSG, only one media outfit are making much of this story (currently) and appear (to me) to conflate the many (but varied) issues VW owners have encountered as-if they were the same thing. Other media outets are specifically stating that they will reserve judgement.
I admit to a vested interest with an Australian Golf VI 1.4TSi (160PS/118Kw) Twin-Charger DSG which has (so far) been peerless and is very nice both to drive and easy to maneuver imho....
Hit a parked car this morning. Left contact details as owner was not there. Is there anything else I need to do such as reporting it to the police station? Read more
You've now started a new thread on the same subject, so it's more helpful to you if comments are made on the same thread. I'll close this one.
bought a new Galaxy Ghia last June Yesterday hit a pothole(thanks Herts CC) and got a puncture rang the RAC told them yes I have a spare wheel .Oh no I didn t there is no provision for one This was 6.45 am fortunately I was only 2 miles from home but it totally screwed my day up what should have taken a few minutes wasted several hours .What happens at times like Christmas when no tyre shop is open I do not know and on motorways you will now have to be towed for a simple puncture .What makes it worse is they provide a tyre repair kit for an amateur to use this is just asking for a blow out do Ford want legal action ??? How long is it before someone is killed for this penny pinching By all means have a spare as an extra but design your cars with space for a spare
And Fords pathetic excuse it is government policy to save fuel so cars need to be lighter all I can say is b******ks... Read more
If I get a puncture, I stop the car, get out and change the wheel, and within 10 minutes I'm on my way. But I drive an old car.

im the 2nd owner of a focus 2.0 tdci ghia(07),under warranty til jun10.Not long after buying the car i started experiencing an intermitent loss of power,e.g while driving along a motorway at around 70mph it will just start decelerating even though my foot is on the accelerator the electrics are still running. equally i can be driving in a 30 mph zone in town and the problem will occur, with no rhyme or reason. i have to turn off the engine and restart the engine and everything is ok again. Sometimes this can happen about 2-3 times a week, somtimes it doesnt happen for a number of months. My major concern is that someone may drive into me when this fault occurs as nearly happened on the M8. it has been back to the local ford dealership, (evans halshaw, edinburgh) where they kept the car for a few days, was taken on an extensive road test, everything was "ok",diagnostic testing showed no fault codes. one of the senior techs questioned the type of fuel used,a fuel sample was taken and was given the all clear, the fuel filter was replaced, engine recoded all at a cost to me,the problem still remains. they have suggested that i shouldnt use cheap forecourt fuel, ie tescos etc, i have since switched to Shell. the problem is still there. the car has been back in since then and now they say the fuel is contaminated, which i take exception to, as i have never filled my car with anything other than diesel. i have asked how this may have happened. they have suggested 2 ways. either the car has run dry, picking up the debris from the bottom of the tank, this has never happened or when i have refueled my car the pump that i have used may have been running low and the gunk from the bottom of that may have entered my tank. both of these i think are far fetched. each time a diagnostic test has been run i am charged as no fault is found. even before they claimed my fuel was contaminated there was a fault, it has undergone the same diagnostic testing each time, so how they have decided this all of a sudden is beyond me. My brother has exactly the same spec of car as me, same year, just a different colour, he uses the local supermarket fuel and has encountered no problems. they have suggested that the vehicle be recovered back to the dealership without starting it as fault codes are erased when the engine is re-started. i am more than convinced they will magically find the fault when my warranty expires. i have also been in touch with Ford customer services, they have logged a call and given me a refference number but are not really able to help other than this.
any advice on how to get the problem solved would be greatly appreciated. Read more
Hi I have a 2.0 tdci which has done the same. I have serviced the car, Cleaned MAF and egr valve, the fault disapeared for a while then it has come back worse than ever. There are no warning lights that come on would a fault code still be stored and did a new egr valve solve the problem ??
Hi, I am looking for some information.
I have a Ford Fiesta 1.4l Zetec (03 model), it has always been a good and reliable car however we have had a few issues with the tracking and rapid wearing of tyres. I had four new tyres over a year ago the offside front tyre wore out rapidly and had to be replaced. We have had the tracking done numerous times to try and correct the cars thirst for tyres and fuel but it has never really been right. I beileve the tracking and tyres are now fine but the fuel consumption is not.... Read more
Its an old thread, our Fiesta is a little heavey on tyres but has improved by over 4000 miles in between changes by getting HID to drive more slowly round roundabouts as this really scrubs the tyres off.
Fuel consumption on our 1.6tdci is av 53-57 on a run 63-67 , if you drive like a nun it will touch 70+ mpg...
Just test driven this (new) car. Liked the size, shape, format etc. And the car, albeit brand new and pre pdi drove nicely, felt good, fairly agile etc. However, although I have driven many dozens of different automatic cars in the past, I was unable to get this Jazz to drive /accelerate /progress etc smoothly - it was ponderous when deciding to change (whether auto or using paddles) and lurched even when unprovoked. When I pressed the accelerator I was left quite unsure when the car would accelerate etc.
The salesman told me that if I took my foot off the accelerator it would go faster (?), and that it was built for economy.... Read more
"I would welcome some sensible advice.".....Sensible advice :- Test drive a brand new car before you buy it. It doesn't take long, when driving an i-shift Jazz, to ascertain whether you like the gearbox or not. You must have driven it before purchase and seen that it was jerky.

Thanks, why this isn't in the manual I don't know
Could someone tell me . Why do I have to press the clutch before the car will start? Is this to stop Toyota being sued if the car is started in gear and hits something? bit like the cut out on some motor cycle side stands. Or does it have a DMF that could be damaged if started in gear by accident?
