Ford Mondeo (2007 - 2015)
Titanium X Sport Estate (163bhp manual)
Practical, Reliable and an all round good car
I've owned this car for 3 years and its done 95,000 miles, but now it's time to sell, so thought I'd write a review for anyone thinking of buying.
I would highly recommend this car.
Car rides and handles well, a little harder ride due to larger alloys and sportier suspension but I didn't feel this was too much of an issue. Very practical and well laid out.
Main issue I've had with the car is the rear trailling arm bushes perishing, requiring replacement. Very common issue on mondeos. Look out for rear wheels appearing to tilt inwards (from the top of the wheel). I also found the alloys started to flake (despite me cleaning them regularly) but not costly to fix.
I've looked after this car, changing the oil every 6 months and a full service yearly. Clutch feels solid. All the electrics work as they should, heated/cooled seats are a great feature. There is a slight delay in turbo, especially in 2nd/3rd gear and this has been a feature since the day I picked it up and doesn't affect performance too much.
Car returns 43mpg with a mixture of town and motorway driving.
Timing belt will need replacing after 10 years or 125k miles.
All in all you get a lot of car for your money and is easily the most reliable car I've had.
