So good I bought another!

Just bought another 2.2 tdci 175bhp on a 2009 plate after a few years with other cars. I was looking at the VW Passat, Skoda Superb but kept coming back to the Mondeo. I picked mine up with 55k miles, fsh, Titanium spec for £5000, which I think is pretty good value.
It drives as well as I remember, please see my previous review on this. I read a review that said the Mondeo does everything rather well and nothing really badly and I think that sums the car up pretty well. Yes there are cars that handle better, are faster, better on fuel, roomier but overall the mondeo does everything fantastically well and for the money there's nothing really to touch them.
If I was to sum up the car in one word I'd say 'competent'. It's a big friendly car that is very easy to live with, it does everything from towing duties to commuting to holiday bus.
I had mine remapped by a local company which involved removing the ECU from the car to install the new map, a bit of a faff but all done at my home address in about an hour. The result? About 205-210 hp! The power now is fantastic really strong acceleration especially in the higher gears and I'm averaging about 45mpg.
If your spending your own money and are looking for a large family car that can do it all for very reasonable money this is it. Be picky as there are thousands to choose from, parts are reasonably cheap and easy to find and there are mountains of used parts on places like eBay meaning running costs are low.
I got a used set of alloys with decent winter tyres for 200 quid to see me through the winter season, try finding that for a merc/jag/bmw.
