Overall reliability

The most comfortable and economical car I have owned in 54 years motoring.

I bought this car with 41,000 miles at 2 years 7mths old. The dual mass flywheel failed at 44,000mls. Just out of manufacturers warranty and dealers warranty, the clutch plate was less than 50% worn but I had that replaced at the same time, so quite expensive. I am informed that this is not uncommon if the dual mass clutch is ill-treated, not just on Fords. The first time I have had a clutch fail in 54yrs driving. 5 years on the only other expense, apart from servicing was replacing the battery at 7 years old, not a bad life. I live in a very hilly area, but regularly get 42 mpg. On longer runs, 3/4 times a year, from Devon to Bedfordshire, I get between 61mpg and 65mpg depending on traffic. On this model, lots of "toys", my only criticism, reversing s ensors would have been more useful than some of the other "toys". I have retro fitted them, made life much easier parking !
SUMMERY The best and most comfortable car I have every owned. that ranges from a Morris Minor to a Jeep Cheroke.
