Brilliant Car, Mechanically sound, built to last.

Ford Mondeo 2L TDCi (163Hp)Titanium X sport 14 plate. I bought this car 15 months old £16,500 with 20K on the clock from a Ford owner/dealer. Has Seat Pack, Summer Pack, driver assistance pack 1, touchscreen Nav Plus, privacy glass, and TPMS. RRP was £32,000 so I felt it was a great deal. It now has 73K on the clock and nearly 6 years old.

Ive had issues with parking sensors in the last six months working intermittently, fixed with WD-40. Apart from last 12m, On and off randomly the car would show various malfunction lights on the dashboard and power loss would follow or limp mode. Switching off the engine and restarting after 10 seconds occasionally fixed the issue. But most of the time involved disconnecting the battery waiting 20 minutes and then restarting and there would be no trace of any faults. Ford were unable to diagnose any faults. The driver's seat becomes uncomfortable if driving longer than two hours. And for some reason the boot leaks standing rainwater when opened, it’s a design fault. New rear trailing arm bushes at £70k (£227). Passes MOT first time.

Has FFSH, Mechanically the car has been flawless. The car is designed to last and will easily do 200K. There are no rattles or squeaks from the cabin. The interior is still like new so wearing very well. The voice control gadget is just a gimmick and I never use it, as is the lane departure warning which is annoying. Love the DAB, keyless entry, heated and cooled seats. Cheapest modern budget tyres outperform original Bridgestones for noise and economy so save yourself some cash. Parking is easy with sensors and rear camera. It's longer than most supermarket parking spaces. Overall this car has been extremely good I am 95% happy with my purchase and would recommend it. I normally average 41 mpg based on town driving 5 days (school run) and motorways for the other 2. Have achieved 53mpg avg going to Paris and back. Very spacious, practical, big boot, enjoyable to drive, well equipped. Worried my next car might not be as good or reliable. New cars that cost twice as much don't have half as many toys.
