As good as German opposition

For a relatively large car, the Mondeo drives very well. As an ex-company car, but with only 40,000 miles on the clock, it was bought from a speciallist dealer.
Although a Zetec it has been specified with sports suspension, Sony radio and half leather heated front seats.
I find the engine response good enough for most situations and the cabin is quiet, comfortable and many friends have been surprised at the room in the rear. I have managed to average nearly 50 mpg on a long motorway run, driving fairly briskly and keeping up with the traffic, although town driving brings this average down quite quickly.
There are reports about the sports suspension being hard, but I don't find it a problem. I'm often pleasantly surprised at how well the car handles round corners, often leaving cars which have a reputation for gripping better. (Perhaps it's the driver!!) However, I've just replaced the tyres with Goodyear Eagle F1's and that's made a difference to the grip and noise levels(Much better).
The only problem I've had with the car is the tyre pressure sensor warning light coming on, telling me there is a faulty sensor. This clearly isn't the case as the individual sensors are showing the correct pressures in the tyres. I've learnt to ignore the warning light as eventually it will go out by itself, sometimes in a few days, sometimes in several weeks.
All in all I've been very satisfied with the car and hope to have it for some years yet.
