Ford Fiesta (2008 - 2013)
Titanium Econetic 1.6 TDCi 3dr Hatchback
Faultless
This was the wife's company car, within the budget band she had selected we looked at lot of different vehicles from Renault to Skoda etc etc.
This Fiesta came in at great value well under her max price so we maxed the spec out, we just said put on everything the titanium has to offer.
This car has done close to 75,000 miles in four years, it has never put a foot wrong.
There has been lots of hard autobahn driving cruising at close to 100mph for 2-3 hours on end.
Regardless of the weather it has always started and driven well.
Fuel economy - amazing across to France on a long run on motorways averaging 5.5 l/100 km thats 51mpg doing 80-90 mph and 70 in France with a loaded car. Even in town the mpg is embarrassingly high even thou the car once warmed up was riven hard, no eco runs here.
Failures - the electric wing mirrors once failed to deploy requiring a visit to the dealer.
The Dealer - I am less than impressed with the official Ford dealership, a non existent fault was repaired at great expense to the parent company, a claimed oil leak form the sump gasket (there was no leak).
After the 2nd and just a few thousand miles before the 3rd service we were getting warning lights on the dash saying the oil had water content, this happened again between the 3rd and 4th service, is this normal or is the dealer using cheap oil.
Roof antenna cross threaded as it left dealer after a car wash.
Oil change not done it on major service, I checked the oil and the same old oil was still in the engine
with the oil level been half way down the scale, I put some fresh stuff in myself not wanting to start a row.
I'm not sure what the dealers motives were here but had this been my personal car I would have read the riot act, is it a money making scam?
We are really sad to see it go as a new vehicle is coming, the new Fiesta (in our opinion) does not look as good as this model with its new nose so we our off elsewhere.
Recommended, sad to see an old friend go.
