Zetec 1.4 5dr Hatchback

Good, reliable, practical, reasonably economic, insurance somewhat on the high side.

The only problems I've had with this vehicle have been with the optional extras :
1) Low-profile tyres (as you have said many times) make driving on anything other than completely smooth surfaces something of a nightmare - in these days of appalling roads you have to be very careful to keep an eye out for potholes and so-called "road-calming" humps. I also had to replace both front tyres because of wear on the INSIDE edges - I got the tracking readjusted and seem to have had no problems since.
2) Automatic wipers - a complete waste of time. They are not sensitive at all despite being set at the highest level. When I've tried them I find that you get to the situation where you can't see out before there's any reaction at all. I think this is dangerous. Also this option removes the choice of interval wiping which I find extremely annoying.
3) Automatic headlights - again, a waste of time. Is it so difficult to switch them on or off using the switch?
Other than these (which I see Ford have removed from the current car) the car is great.
