Fan on Berlingo has stopped working. I have removed fan, and put a multimeter onto the plug, no power. I have found the resistor, and no pin on the plug has power. I have tested the plug into the control know - no pin has power. I cannot trace the wiring back as it disppears behind the heating ducts.
Is there a relay that controls the blower. Does anyone know where this is located? Any suggestion gratefully received.... Read more
Does anyone have experience of this? I purchased a second hand car in October (yes, I know - I am kicking myself for not realising the V5 didn't come through and chasing it up then....) but, the tax has just expired. I didint' receive a reminder from the DVLA, but I can check on their website for free that yes, it's just expired too (as per tax disc on car)
I've contacted the dealer first and foremost to see what they can say about it.......... Read more
"...I should go back to my dealer and request a reimbursement, since it was deemed their fault for not having submitted the required documents."
Exactly.
Can anyone help me? Not had my Zafira long but when I bought it I was told that the 'spanner' light had come on some 6 weeks previous but not been on since. I've had the car now since May and it has only come on once during a long journey when I hit traffic but I continued driving and it went off. Had a problem on Sunday with my key in that I couldn't get the steering lock off or start the car. After a lot of wiggling and jiggling the AA man got me started and sent me on my way with instructions that I needed to replace my ingition barrel. Part came yesterday searched the forums and learnt how to remove and replace etc and was really chuffed that I had managed to do myself at very little cost. However.........I now seem to have introduced an intermittent problem in that the immoboliser is cutting in a not letting the car start. (I understand that the original key must be close to the barrel etc as the chip is still in the key etc.) It started yesterday and let me drive home, but when I went to go back out 20 minutes later, no joy. Been out this morning, started no problem, but I am now very wary! I have read through lots of solutions online and have checked the fuses, not sure if it has any relevance but when the car is running one of the big green relay fuses in the internal fuse box is getting very hot! Any ideas????? Read more
After a lot of wiggling and jiggling the AA man got me started and sent me on my way with instructions that I needed to replace my ingition barrel.
When that happened to mine, I removed the barrel, thoroughly washed out all the old grease which was contaminated with aluminum dust from wear, regreased and reassembled. Sorted....

My Feb 2008 Citroen C4 1.6 HDI 110 VTR+ has now done 92,000 miles.
Despite the manufacturer's recommendation that the cam belt should be changed at 150k miles, my mechanic is urging me to have it done before the car reaches 100k, as per the recommendation for the 1.6 petrol model.
What do you think?
He says that the ancillary pulleys etc are all plastic and could fail before 100k miles.

I'd get it changed - prevention is much cheaper than the cure, and leaving it isn't a risk I'd take.
Our new car is sadly without sat nav (£650 option or an app for the iPhone? Hmmm, let me think!) so I am going to use my iPhone as a sat nav on the few occasions when it is needed.
But I am having trouble finding a solution to mounting the phone. I don't want to have a suction mount on the windscreen as I don't want the mark on the screen alerting anyone to a potential sat nav in the glovebox, plus I don't like having a mark on the windscreen! Also a windscreen mount at the base of the screen means the phone is a distance away for my poor eyes to struggle with!
A dash mount is tricky as although the top of the dash is flat it is slightly textured and suction pads don't like it. I have also tried a small bracket slotting into the air vent but it isn't very secure.
Sorry this is a very dull thread! But hopefully someone has an answer (that doesn't involve super glue or blu-tac!). Read more

I had my EX I-CTDI Tourer for almost nine years and never anything wrong with it - it was bombproof. Serviced regularly by main dealer and never failed its MOT. I changed it for the Mark lV CR-V although only a few months old seems as bombproof as the Accord.
Provide it's been serviced regularly I would go for it.

Need to buy new tyres 205 60 15V to replace original Dunlop SP01 fitted to octavia (27,000 miles / 18 months) the treadwear rating of these is 280.
Are treadwear ratings still stamped on tyres or has this all gone out the window with the new EU marking system (rating roll resistance/grip/noise).... Read more
The Goodyear F1s I had on my X type had a higher figure than the Pirellis they replaced, they lasted half as long.
The Toyos I had fitted to the Aygo had a figure almost twice that of the Contis they replaced. When we traded the Toyos were hardly touched after 8,000 miles, after a similar mileage the Contis were swapped front to back as the fronts were at 3mm.
Hi,
I've recently purchased a combo van on an 03 plate.
There's a sudden loss of power, for example when setting off from traffic lights everything feels fine until I change up into 2nd gear then it starts... a very noticeable sudden drop in power which almost makes the van feel like its trying to pull back, it lasts for a split second then takes off at normal speed, I then change up into 3rd and this process repeats itself, a sharp pull back in power then accelerates off at speed.
Once I'm in 4th/5th gear on the flat, the van purrs along with no issues but I dread approaching hills with traffic on my tail, as soon as I drop down a gear on a hill, the same thing happens and the power can drop from 35mph to 15mph very quickly and I get the usual 1 handed gestures from overtaking motorists.
So has anyone experienced similar issues or have any ideas?
Its been on a computer at the garage and all sensors came back normal, and the pressure test on turbo and fuel pump showed no issues.
The mechanic knew very little about diesels so I didn't leave the van with him as he looked stumped.
Before I take it into a garage can anyone arm me with likely causes so I don't get ripped off with un-necessary work.
Thanks for any help

Excellent news mate.
after fixing the relay the blower has failed again 2 years later. This time it gradually got weaker and weaker and eventually stopped over a period of a few weeks. This time its not the relay. The car is 2010 multispace in ireland RHD.
I couldn't find the blower for ages and eventually located it above the accellerator pedal. It has a simple resistor speed control with the resistor located in the duct near the motor. This time the problem was the armature in the motor. Carbon had built up between the commutator copper contacts and was shorting out the windings. I was able to remove the motor fairly easily (4 screws) from below. On the bench remove two motor anchor screws that hold the motor in its housing, Prise the motor out of the housing to access the brush/commutator area. I cleaned out the carbon gunk betwenn the commutator contacts with a very small screwdriver. I cleaned the commutator with alcohol and q-tips and its back going again. lets see how long it lasts.
