Disappointing very hard to drive in my opinion

We were very confident that this Polo was going to be good, having had the 2008 1.4 bluemotion model.
However we found it amazingly difficult to drive. This model came with stop start tech which seemed not to function properly leaving us stranded in awkward situations. The revs would drop off for the stop start and sometimes would not start again. The clutch seemed to not work properly for us ....weird. The fuel consumption on our rural roads was poor at 46mpg but fairly good on longer drives. I found it difficult to get in and out of the drivers seat seemed to be less headroom. Inside it was nice and uncramped though and really good sure footed quiet ride at high speeds. The vehicle was recalled because the diesel partical filter thing was overheating the bodywork above the engine, this was due to the dpf being increased in size I was told...wonder if vw were trying to repair emissions failures..anyway it stank of overheating and the fan would go mental even on short trips..terrible. Just swapped it for a Toyota Yaris hybrid which is almost exactly the same size as the Polo, but much easier to get into and the ride seems just as good on rural roads, it is also ridiculously easy to drive being an automatic. However the Yaris is very noisy 55 plus compared to the Quiet Polo and doesn't have the visibility when manoeuvring.
