Versatile car

Family owned car, accommodates 4 easily, 5 at a pinch. Dual floor boot level great idea. Great driving position for all sizes. Headlight brightness & reach far better than bigger VW's in same household. Not as reliable as our other VW's. Wipers failed in snowstorm - switch was the problem (800 miles), front brakes seized (2000 miles) after car had been parked for 4 days in -10 degrees C in winter, dealer said no car should be parked for that length of time! Dealer initially refused to fix car under warranty but then changed their mind, mysterious problem at 7500 miles where car failed to start or cutout then failed to start x 7 occasions, car towed to garage, problem was eventually resolved after car remained at dealer for 5 weeks (courtesy car provided with full tank of petrol included) as a hairline crack in a printed circuit controlling petrol/immobiliser. At 22500 miles aircon very, very noisy, VW refuse to top up low gas level despite car still under warranty and having purchased service package, very disappointed at this attitude. Particularly annoying though is sticking rear drum brakes despite being cleaned by dealer (£45), this problem started at 18,000 miles. Unless VW resolve reliability and warranty intransigence we'll not be helping them achieve their 2016 objective re 'Das Auto'. Regarding the car's looks, practicality and drivability though, its a great little car.
