Just popped along to one of the two Omoda dealers within ten miles of my home.

Saw a grey metallic Omoda E5. Very different seeing these 'in the flesh ' than a youtube review. I'm over 60 6ft4 and hefty. Bags of room inside and very comfy seats. Austere dash very on trend. But clearly it's nailed together very well indeed on first appearances. Quality feeling materials and at bargain basement prices.... Read more

Driving on a A class road approx 55mph.
Warning on display “Emergency Brakes Being Applied” then Emergency Brakes applied, air bags exploded and came to a halt. Luckily no other vehicle around. No serious injuries apart from a sore head hitting the steering wheel.
All this for no reason just happened with nothing around etc.
Mercedes cant look at it for a week and no offer of a loan replacement.

Has anyone had similar issues, searching its a problem worldwide and often no solution/reason found. Read more

And 3 hydraulic systems. A DC-10, United Airlines flight 232 suffered an uncontained fan disc failure which ruptured all 3 lines and resulted in the loss of all flight controls. 112 lives lost.

I'm driving a 2018 Ford Galaxy, always with the backmost seats down.
Before that, I had a late-noughties SEAT Alhambra, from which I had the backmost seats completely out.
What car in recent or current production would be a suitable replacement?

Criteria:
* high sitting position
* similar amount of space at the back, or more
* comfy interior
* manual transmission
* runs on diesel or petrol
* driver sits on the right... Read more

Presumably the torque output of the de-rated 2.5G will be significantly higher than that of the 143PS (and 165) uprated 2G engine, and thus should be better to drive under most circumstances because you won't need to thrash it. Fine by me if that's the case, especially if they pair it with one of their TC auto boxes.

No need to guess as Mazda provide full technical information (240 vs 213 at lower RPM)....

As they were a member of the AA they called them out to see if they could charge the battery so we could drive it around to a few dealers ( with me insured for the day) , they said it would not hold a charge and ended up selling them another one for £185!!!!

They could have said no and bought one from a local motor factors....

Hi,I would really appreciate any recommendations for a used small auto in the £10 to £12k price range.I am looking for my wife and am pretty much aware of all the various options but as there are no torque converter boxes these days,and due to her having a dislike for the automated manuals,her last car was a Pro Ceed auto,I am a bit stumped.I suppose the safer option would be either a Yaris or Jazz CVT?…The Corsa 1.4 autos are cheaper,anybody have one of these please? Hello,

I have a Peugeot 508SW Hybrid which I purchased not too long ago (couple of months) It appears in that time my front offside tyre has developed a slow puncture (will lose about 10PSI over 3 weeks) and it is just around 3mm of tread depth so I am considering replacing rather than repairing - They are also summer tyres and I would prefer All Seasons.... << .... the old trains had a facility to apply sand to the track before the driving wheels. I would have thought it would be sharp enough to pierce a layer of slimy leaves under the driving loco's weight. >>

I don't know about sand on modern trains, but those disc brakes are efficient enough to lock axles if applied with too much force, even without leaves on the line. That easily causes flats on the wheel(s) which can often be heard passing my house :-)

Hi,
I am in the middle of applying Dynax UB wax to underbody and chassis. I applied the product by brush and this stuff dries brown-black.

I would like make sure what elements should I mask on to avoid any problems with future MOT test caused by applied black stuff to the elements which shouldn’t be covered.

I already masked brakes pipes, ABS sensor cables, calipers, brake discs, fuel pipes, exhaust.

Can I apply the stuff to these elements:

- all steel suspension elements
- steel support brackets like from gas tank, hoses and pipes brackets
- front and rear sub-frames
- brake dust shields (from external side)
- all nuts, hose brackets,

Should I be very careful with specific elements and don’t cover them with anything.
The product can be cleaned with white spirit in case of application in unwanted areas.

Thank you,
Tom Read more

Our house's cast iron drain gutters were corroded badly so I cleaned, treated with one of the acid rust neutralisers and then zinc based paint 20 years ago.

No rust since - not bad for 100 + year old (parts of house wee built in 1820s).....
