Suzuki Vitara (2015 on)
1.4 Boosterjet S Allgrip Auto 5dr SUV
A great SUV which is easy to drive because of its light body and good all round visibility
I bought the updated (2019) model of the Vitara having had to wait 3 months for delivery. It was well worth the wait! This is a complete upgrade from my previous 2010 Grand Vitara and it seems much more refined than the 2015 version in which I had an extended trial. The steering is better weighted and the engine and transmission work well together; if you put the auto box into sport mode it really does give you extra control for going along country roads. The ride is smooth but well controlled. There is less road noise than the 2015 version so motorway cruising is relaxed.
It also has a second generation Active Cruise Control system which I have found very useful and works well - better than the one in a BMW. Visibility is very good for a modern car and the rear view camera is the best I've seen, making parking a dawdle. It also has reasonably light steering which makes any manoevre, particularly parking easy to do.
I've only driven it in snow once yet but like my previous Vitara it is rock solid with no sign of slippage
Fuel usage seems very good for a car with a petrol engine and the engine is quiet
My car is SZ5 spec and not the S but this includes a lot of features but I find that they are well chosen and are all useful - my wife really likes the sun roof. The inside is definitely a grade up for Suzuki and seats are comfortable. The navigation seems to work OK but I'm still getting used to it. Radio is good
All in all a great car and value for money by today's standards
