Citroen C5 (2008 - 2016)
1.6 HDi 16v VTR+ Saloon
Comfortable car which looks good
I have been a Citroen driver for almost a million miles. I have 58000 miles on this model since new and was quite pleased with it BUT, I have had the back of the drivers seat replaced under warranty as the support on the right of the upright broke up inside at 30,000 miles; 1 year old. It has happened again, an identical fault. I also consider the support in the base of the drivers seat on the right as you enter has collapsed and no longer offers any support. I never had a problem with seats in 2 previous C5's that put up 150.000 miles each.
The latest issue is the Economy Mode. It comes on as soon as you exit the car. My dealer has examined the fault but it continued. On my request he has fitted a new battery and the issue is now rectified. I believe the system parameters are that even though the battery was checked the car recognised the battery "power" was reduced and activated the Economy Mode.
Issue 3: I have also had the drivers door window mechanism replaced at 58,000 miles/2 years.
For information: Front tyre wear is 18,000 miles and rear is 35,000 miles. MPG is 42 on average according to the onboard computer.
