BMW X3 (2010 - 2018)
XDrive 20d M Sport Auto 5dr 4 X 4
Well engineered but lacks tech
So I moved from a Qashqai to BMW X3. The Qashqai was nippy, fuel efficient and comfortable with lots of tech, cameras etc. The X3 is more refined, better to drive and has a better fit and finish. It drives well. The auto box is almost silent and engine has plenty of ooomph. However there is a lack of technology on on the X3. Its almost like BMW are 3-4 years behind everyone else with the tech. The fuel consumption is generally poor despite driving like I had slippers on. Having said that , you buy the X3 for status, not as a cheap run-a-riound. The X3 is quite a large car and parking takes some getting used to
Once the warranty has expired I wont be using BMW for maintenance as I'm not impressed with the dealers ( £250 to get warranty issues resolved!) and a local Independent BMW specialist will be getting my business
