BMW X3 (2010 - 2018)
bmw x3 F25 2.0 M Sport Auto
Brilliant car spoilt by concerns over reported BMW generic security flaws
• Took delivery of the car in July 2011 and almost immediately drove it through Spain from Santander to Cadiz without problem. On the return journey the driver’s window failed, repaired on return to the UK, problems with part availability, given a Range Rover Sport as a courtesy car which made me pleased I hadn’t bought one! (RR Sport that is)
• Still not completely happy with the smooth running of the window mechanism, will address this at the first service
• Glad I bought the Sport, I’d ordered that many extras that the model was only a little more expensive than the (is it GL?) and I liked the look of it
• Our last car was a BMW 335i Coupe so of course I notice a difference in performance, but the more I drive the F25 the more I like it – now covered 10K. I’m pleased with the MPG, probable because I wasn’t taken in by the manufacturers’ figures; 35/36 Town, 40/42 Highway. Really pleased at road tax time, particularly considering the cost of taxing the 335i
• My big concern at the moment is the reports of thefts by accessing the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) Port; this is all over the internet and not helped by BMW not making a clear statement. My dealer, BROAD OAK Ashford, denies any knowledge of a problem. A pity because other than this the dealership has been excellent particularly the sales department.
