BMW X3 (2010 - 2018)
3.0d M Sport
Every car you need in one vehicle
2.5 years down the line I still love the power of the 3.0 diesel engine. In Sport Mode the 8 speed
gearbox is awesome in the way a car this size hurls itself towards the horizon. A real "street sleeper". Wearing my "grown up" hat, the car is fanastically economical considering the size and performance available. The heated sports seats are supremely comfortable and there is plenty of room in the back. Some people may find the ride a bit firm, but I like a firmer riding car. It is down to personal preference, I expect the SE is a softer ride. As a practical load-lugging vehicle it is fine. It swallowed a washing machine no problem and I frequently fold the rear seats (a doddle) in order to load up with stuff for the tip. Before purchased, I looked at the Evoque. Trendier but £ for £ the BMW murders it for power/size/economy/emissions/load capacity/equipment etc. The tyres have lasted 24000 miles and no faults have occurred. The only slight criticism is the utilitarian dashboard.
