BMW X1 (2015 - 2022)
xDrive25d M Sport Auto 5dr
Great car, when it's working.
Good stuff
1. Specious and comfortable all rounder with lots of room for passengers and luggage.
2. Quiet and refined.
3. Decent handling for an SUV.
4. Economical (usually averages 38mpg, but 50+ mpg possible on a motorway journey.
5. Strong and smooth power delivery. Very quiet engine. One friend thought it was electric, another thought it was petrol. Bags of torque.
Not so good
Lots if issues with these cars if you read the forums, making it a potentially risky purchase. I've been relatively lucky. For a 30,000 mile car I've had suspension problems (top mount failed and had to be replaced). I've had electrical issues, despite a brand new high end battery, it still has low voltage issues and needs charging occasionally overnight. Lots of creeks and squeeks from the trim and sunroof, rear luggage area. Electric drop down rear seats no longer work on one side.
