BMW X1 (2015 - 2022)
X1 2.0i (petrol) Xdrive Xline Auto
Smooth, Powerful, Handles well
Have now had this car for 15 months. I have read other reviews which complain about a harsh ride - I don't agree. It is a firm ride - and with that comes excellent handling, but in my opinion it is not harsh (on 18 inch rims with run flats). Before this car I had several 3 series estates and the ride is comparable (from a comfort perspective) . Similarly, contrary to some other reviewers I don't find the road noise excessively loud - in fact quieter than my previous 3 series. The engine has plenty of power - that and the 8 speed auto gearbox are very quiet and smooth. The gear change is so smooth that I only feel it if I really accelerate hard. I have found the speed limiter function very useful.
Overall there is plenty of room in the cabin, with comfortable seats. The under floor storage in the 'boot' is really useful.
Fuel economy is a little disappointing (about 34mpg around town and 46mpg on a long motorway run). The LED lights are also less powerful than I was expecting. Build quality is very good with no little knocks or rattles - at least so far.
