Taken from a Land Rover group I am in, will it work? Not sure, but the first step is admitting the problem!
“An interesting read. Slaes down 20% this year as they finally realise customers are moving away from JLR due to reliability and quality issues.
They also acknowledge designing in unnecessary complexity into the new defender which as we all know is going to be another reason JLR is bottom of every survey.
Hope they get there act together. We have all been screaming at them about this for years.

Speaking to investors, chief executive officer Thierry Bollore has finally acknowledged that quality and reliability issues are costing the company over 100,000 sales per year. “The dissatisfaction of our customers is detrimental to our volume,” said the head honcho as quoted by Automotive News.
Gee, what took you so long? Even when Ford owned Jaguar and Land Rover, they were consistently ranked at the bottom of reliability surveys in the United States, United Kingdom, and continental Europe. In the most recent J.D. Power survey for dependability, Jaguar made the list on third-from-last position, Alfa Romeo on the penultimate, and Land Rover dead last.
Jaguar Land Rover Highlights 2021
The bad rep can also be attributed to automotive vloggers. Doug DeMuro used to daily a Range Rover, and over six years, CarMax paid him an eye-watering $21,276 in claims for a $3,699 warranty. The Fast Lane also deserves to be mentioned because the four-cylinder turbo engine in their new Defender gave up the ghost after only 167 miles (269 kilometers).
Given these circumstances, are you surprised that sales are down 24 percent in 2020 versus the preceding year? Cars breaking down cost JLR a lot of money, the kind of money that makes or breaks the company’s credibility.
On the earnings call, chief creative officer Gerry McGovern reassured investors that “we are reducing the complexity of our vehicles massively.” That’s a curious way of addressing quality and reliability, more so if you remember that Land Rover has added unwanted complexity to the Defender by switching from a simple ladder frame to a unibody. Looking at the bigger picture, going electric to the detriment of ICE is the only way forward.” Read more
I'm using a 2017 Peugeot Partner van this week at work. It has a touchscreen. I really need to turn the irritating radio off and there is no off button. Just turn the sound down I hear you say. Yes, I do, but I make deliveries and switch off up to 200 times a day. Each time the radio comes back on, on a very low volume, even though I turned the volume down completely.
Can anyone tell me how to keep the radio off one way or another? Read more
Why not contact the radio manufacturer or Peugeot?
I was given the van on Thursday morning with no notice. Driving around , very busy when I realised the radio kept coming back on. Just needed a quick answer.
Got my Fiat back now, so I don't care.
Many years ago it seemed the advice was to pump up tyres an extra so many psi if you were going on a long high speed journey. Not sure why.
My Superb has a tyre pressure label in the fuel flap that states 32psi as minimum, an "eco"/passengers with luggage setting of 36 psi and a higher pressure still if fully laden to the gunnels. All pressures to be checked when tyres are cold of course... Read more
Engineer Andy, very many thanks for your comprehensive answer to my tyre pressure query and apologies for the delay in replying. I have not visited the site for several days. Your reply gave me just the information that I was looking for. I have asked tyre fitters the same question and have never received received a definitive answer. I couldn't agree more with your final sentence.

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing AC Accumulator
Rattling noises during operation. One of the first warning signs that an accumulator has failed is a rattling noise when the AC is turned on. ...
Noticeable refrigerant leaks. Another more obvious and more serious sign that an accumulator has failed is a visible refrigerant leak. ...
Moldy smell when the AC is on.
I purchased a used car from a dealer. I had to buy remotely, so asked him to confirm that car had no issues - which he did.

How 'big' is the leak? If it makes a puddle more than 7.5cm diameter after 5 minutes, it will fail the MoT. A bit of oozing from a rocker cover is acceptable. One could argue it might help with arresting underbody corrosion if it spreads around! But it sounds as though you are being taken for a ride by the garage. If they have already 'opened it up' , it should not cost an extra £100 to replace an item costing around a tenner if no extra labour is needed.
Hi everyone - recently bought a 2019 Mokka X, 1.4 petrol. Have owned for three months now and I am really struggling to get used to the ride. It's really bumpy and gittery around town on uneven roads and even the smallest pothole sends shudders though the cabin! I have taken it for an inspection and all is fine with suspension etc.
It's to the point I am seriously thinking of cutting my loses on the value lost and getting another SUV. However before I do, is this type of ride just part of the character of an SUV (I have always previously owned small hatchbacks) or is this an issue others have noticed with the Mokka? Ps I did test drive but with only a short period to test and a salesman in my ear I didn't really notice the hard ride at that time. ... Read more
OP
If I was you, try test driving another similar SUV or even another mokka to see if the bumpy ness is just you getting used to another style of car. I personally do find suv’s bounce more than normal cars, I’m driving a mokka at the moment and it’s no worse than other suv’s To drive but inferior to normal hatchbacks imho
Life is too short to drive a car you don’t like though. You just need to find out is it that particular car, that particular model, or the more general style that you don’t like.
Can anyone advise me if there is a reset/recalibration procedure for TPMS sensors on Hyundai i30. The book says to drive the car, the sensor is pinging as that's been checked. The warning cleared once but has returned. Everything is at the correct pressures and the sensor was okay before it was removed for the alloy wheels to be refurbished. Read more
This thread reminded me to look up replacements for my Accord - dreading the OEM cost when they need replacing which they don't ATM.
This company seems to know a lot about TPMS systems, programming, etc...
I am very sorry to relate that Avant, the esteemed moderator of the Backroom, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Dorset yesterday.
I have known Avant since he moved to our village about 15 years ago. Although I have been a member of this forum for many years I only discovered Avant's identity a couple of years ago.... Read more
I have also been a member of the forum for many years but have become an infrequent visitor in recent times.
I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to Avant's family. He always retained such a courteous approach to his moderating, and having read the tribute to him, it is clear he came across online exactly as in "real life"....
Hopefully someone here can help.

A very good car, one of my favourite used buys. Enjoy it and long may it serve you well.
With the very limited forms of entertainment due to Covid restrictions I thought it would be nice to go to the local park with my Family to celebrate the little one's second birthday.
