Comfortable, but disappointing replacement for Mk6 2003 Fiesta 1.4 TDCI

Bought to replace Mk6 TDCI that covered 185k miles. 1.25 engine is not powerful enough for car with 4 adults onboard. The lack of torque is potentially dangerous on fast roads, especially up hills.
Some instruments and controls are fussy and awkward to use. Ventilation dial positions do not show in the dark and the keypad unit is particularly impractical. Displays are muddled, LCD temperature gauge and moving needle fuel gauge. Shame, as Mk6 was a lesson in clarity and ease of use.
Bumpers cope with minor scuffs and knocks less well. Door mirror hit slowly in a car park did not give on its mounting, it bent the door!
Car runs better on premium fuel, but does not give any improvement in fuel consumption. Brim full to brim full calculations show a fuel consumption of 48 to 49 mpg on country roads, driven with care. Consumption drops on motorways at a steady 70mph. Selecting reverse can be awkward, but otherwise gear change is excellent.
Overall, it is not as pleasing to own as the previous model
