Ford Fiesta (2013 - 2017)
Titanium 1.0T EcoBoost 100 Powershift 5dr Auto Hatchback
As good as expected - better ?
Drive - comfort - handling - pick up & go - powershift auto behaves well - fuel consumption high 30's to mid 40's - sits at 70 on motorways running near 50 mpg - comfortable on long journeys 2500 mile trip to France as enjoyable as narrow hilly country roads in the Trough of Bowland & Lake District.
This car lifted me out of a seven year rut of running a sensible good mpg & plenty of space but rather boring 'cvt car to drive in that it did not 'pick up its skirt & run'. I did not believe Peter at Rufus Carr that a small 3 cylinder engine with an auto box could put 'a spring in my drive' It does what everybody says 'holds the road, good round corners - yes its not spacious with lots of room for 'junk' & luggage but with a bit of planning & a 'jigsaw mind' we drove 2500 miles over 14 days without a trailer, the ride was comfortable & 44.5 mpg overall despite running at the limit on UK M roads & French A routes an easy 120 kph with 130 more often than needed but enjoyed. Running cost are too early to say with honesty, the same goes for spares & repairs but Rufus Carr have a good reputation locally & the experience of pre sales - sale order & delivery augers well for the future. Would a 125 engine with powershift be a better car for me? no answer its not marketed UK One thing for sure this one put 'life in the old dog !!'
