Dacia Duster (2018 on)
1.5 Blue dCi 115 Comfort 4x4 5dr
Okay but with some disappointments
This is the second Duster I have owned, my first was a 2016 4x2 1.5 diesel. I was well pleased with it so decided to buy a new 4x4 Duster. First impressions are that there are some improvements over the earlier model; it's more comfortable and with better soundproofing. The biggest downside is the constant infernal buzzing noise coming from the fuel pump. It is so noticeable that my wife does not like travelling in the car and wishes we'd never bought it. Dacia say that the problem has been reported to Renault who state that the noise is within acceptable limits (whatever they are) and that there is no justifiable complaint. This is not an acceptable response. They have added much improved sound insulation to this model but not to the fuel pump area. Prospective buyers should test the car before purchasing. The noise is a nuisance and is very distracting. The Dacia mechanic said he had received more than one complaint about this but could only suggest turning the radio on to drown out the noise. Very disappointing.
