Dacia Duster (2018 on)
1.3 TCE 130 Prestige 4x2 5dr
An outstanding family SUV
This is my second Duster. I was frustrated by my first Duster, a 2016 1.5dCi, because I couldn't see the speedometer on a bright sunny day and the Sat Nav was placed down by my knee and I could hardly see it never mind put in the destination etc., apart from these niggles the machine had performed well in rural Cumbria over 75,000mi in 4years. I checked out the new model and anticipating a much lower usage went for for the 1.3TCE. The dealer took nearly 3weeks to get the vehicle due to 'Covid issues' which melted away when I threatened to take my business elsewhere! 2y 7mo and 14,000mi later its proved to be a useful reliable car. It returns 47mpg on the motorway but I now do a large number of short runs in a congested urban location so not surprisingly the 'around town' consumption is poor. Tyre wear is negligible and mechanically its so far proved to be faultless. The boot takes a mobility scooter easily with a flat sill that aids loading and you can still get the shopping in too. The instrument layout has been revised, the Sat Nav screen is much better placed and the speedo and tach are clearly visible even on a sunny day and it has a digital speedometer. Climate control is excellent and cruise control and speed limiter are excellent and easy to use. The hard plastic interior is acceptable and its easy to clean. More importantly its only depreciated £4,000 from new! What's not to like?
