BMW 3 Series (2012 - 2019)
320d 2.0 M Sport Auto 4dr
Amazing car and a brilliant ownership experience
If I’m honest, probably my favourite car from the cars I’ve owned. This car had the professional media pack.
The good points
The engine and gearbox are simply silky smooth and super responsive. Usually got about 430miles per tank.
Steering is pin sharp and gives excellent feedback but is heavy. I love the steering wheel feel. It’s super soft and tactile but can seem a little chunky.
Everything feels robust. But also light which is surprising compared to the heavy VW/Audi feel.
The car has enough usb slots and software to keep you connected but not overly intrusive. You can focus on driving very easily in this car.
The base audio system okay and the boot space is decent but should’ve gotten split folds to maximise things.
The car isn’t too hard to park with rear sensors but could’ve benefited from front sensors too.
Bad points
None of note. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed owning this car. I now totally get the BMW brand.
The interior isn’t as blingy as Mercs, Audi’s or the new G20 BMW. But it’s not as plain as previous models.
Shame the government is determined to scapegoat diesels as this engine and gearbox is awesome.
Servicing can be expensive and tyres costs are a bit high.
For me this car is a benchmark.
