BMW 3 Series (2012 - 2019)
318d Luxury Auto 4dr Saloon
Comfortable, economical, spacious, great to drive on good surfaces - will not be replacing with run-flats....
I bought my car through BMW Approved Used in March 2013 with 6200 miles.
High specification - Titanium silver, black leather, heated seats, folding mirrors, storage pack, extended bluetooth, 5 year service pack.
Plus points - very comfortable driving position (personally I think better than the E90 I had), notably more rear seat room, generally good cabin design (but see below), fantastic motorway cruiser, consistent 52MPG. Did 1000 miles over Easter week and not a twinge. BMW approved used purchase very easy and willing to do a good deal for the business. Contrary to popular belief, all the dealers I contacted were very responsive.
Not so great - 18in run flats are rock hard, they will not be replaced - some interior creaks over rough road services. Horrible iDrive screen on dash - the E90 was better in this respect. Don't like not having a dipstick!
I didn't particularly want a diesel but as I do minimum 20k a year it's a no-brainer. As I tend to keep cars for a long time I'll be doing interim 9-10k oil changes between the included services.
The only option I would definitely have specified new would be the adaptive suspension. I had a 320i Xdrive M-sport on test and it transforms the car completely.
