BMW 3 Series (2012 - 2019)
330e 2.0 Phev M Sport Shadow Edition Auto 4dr Saloon
Quite Comfortable but ultimately unreliable
Bought this 330e Msport Oct 16 to replace my 330d Msport.
The hybrid is quieter and more refind and although the reviews say differntly it handles better. There is definately an advantage to not having a heavy 6 cylinder diesel over the front wheels. Turn in is sharper and feels more planted.
The bad news. After about 7 months and 20,000 miles the electrical charging system failed and fetched out the circuit breaker in the house. BMW had it back for a week and fitted a new convenience pack, which I took to mean the inverter. Only 8 weeks later exactly the same fault again BMW had it back for a week and admitted to having to do the exact same repair. Also admitted BMW know they have a problem but as yet have not issued a solution.
I accept this is new technology and there will be issues and in fairness BMW have provided courtesy car and delivrd my car back cleaned and cared for.
Just hope this gets sorted before we get close to the end of the warranty.
