BMW 3 Series (2012 - 2019)
520d se
Luxury that's cheap to run
This is the second 520D but first auto we've owned so we knew what to expect, never had anything go wrong and know issues so far, in between the 1st and the 2nd 5 series we owned a BMW 420D convertible (best car we've owned) and a Golf 2.0 TDI GT couldn't get out of the golf quick enough.
Back to the present this car is great for long runs regularly got mid to high 50's mpg around town down to 40-45 mpg very comfortable, effortless to drive, smooth on the road little tyre noise, boot big enough for most needs but not as practical as a hatch back for taller items, plus £30 road tax, would I recommend the BMW 520d SE Yes but note make sure it's got a good spec strangely some SE have better spec than the luxury models that I can't get my head around luxury the the best top of everything so should also have all the bells and whistles.
Final note I've driven BMW's in some of the worst the British winters can throw at us and with winter tyres fitted never had any problem just drive to the conditions
