Citroen C5 - Annoying "squealing" from rt. front Brakes. 11 May 2012 (Forum)
This C5 car has the Bosch Brake System. This squealing has persisted over a few months and it was suggested I change from "Hard" Pads to softer ones. I replaced with Metelex Pads but the noise persists. (the old pads were hardly worn). It is only heard when the car has almost stopped but never -
Toyota Avensis 08 2.2 estate - Front/ Rear Brake Pads 6 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Hi, Just thinking ahead but do you need any special tools when replacing the rear brake pads? I know on some vehicles you need to wind the piston in as it doubles for the handbrake - is this the same? I'm unable to get a manual for this 08 model otherwise I'd have gone and bought one -

Rover 420 front brakes 15 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I examined the front brakes on my car and found the front offside outer pad very thin, the other three pads are still thick. The defective pad being on the outside is not operated by the hydraulic piston but by the stub arms. Why should that one pad wear heavily when its mate is still in good -
Electronic parking brake 3 May 2006 (Forum)
I drove a Ford C-Max today, and it had an electronic parking brake. I've never come across one before, and wondered if anyone had any thought about these, on reliability or otherwise. Perhaps I'd get used to it, but it seemed more controllable to hold the car on an incline using a handbrake. Also -
Brake bleeding BMW 316 Compact 13 Feb 2006 (Forum)
What is the best way to bleed brakes on a 1997 BMW 316 compact? I ask because I have heard rumors that you have to be careful using one of those ezibleed one man systems on ABS systems if at all. I have one but have never used it or would it be better to avoid using this and get someone to pump -
Astra 1.8 stalling under braking 4 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Bit of a weird one this. The idling speed of the Astra seems to be set a bit slo to kick in. To give a scenario, slowing for a roundabout, clutch in, braking, the revs drop from wherever they were at cruise - 300rpm for example - to 400rpm and then jump back up to idle at around 750-800 -
Jammed brake disk on Fiesta Mk2 xr2i 25 Jul 2005 (Forum)
I'm trying to remove the front disks from my Mk2 Fiesta xr2i. I've removed the brake calipers and the screw holding the disk to the hub, but the disk itself seems stuck to the hub. I've tried bashing the disk with a rubber mallet, but to no avail. Can someone advise me what I could try -
Laguna wheel bearing & Brake cylinder 6 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Do any BR's know how easy it is to change the rear wheel bearings and brake cylinders on a '95 Laguna 1.8 non abs. Is it an easyish job and so worth getting a Haynes manual for, or am I better off getting it done at a garage. I am pretty much mechnicaly minded so do not think the cylinder -

Paint for brake drums - Focus 19 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I'm sure there has been a previous thread about this - but I can't find it. The rust on the rear brake drums on our Focus Chic looks 'orrible through the 3x2 spoke alloys. I tried painting the drums with old motorcycle cylinder black - which looked good for about 6 months, but now the rust -
Ford Fiesta brakes 3 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Ford Fiesta, 1999 - brakes are squealing. Plenty of pad material, and discs look fine. Can anyone offer any advice before I start pulling the rear drums apart? Also, the caliper guide pins on the front discs seem to require some sort of enormous allen key. Can anyone clarify what's required here -
Ford Fiesta Mk4 - Brake question... 14 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Hi I have a Mk4 Ford Fiesta Flight 16V registered in 1997/1998. I have recently started to hear what can be described as a clicking noise coming from the offside front wheel after I apply the footbrake. This always occurs, irrespective of how quickly I apply the footbrake. The braking
