Do any BR's know how easy it is to change the rear wheel bearings and brake cylinders on a '95 Laguna 1.8 non abs. Is it an easyish job and so worth getting a Haynes manual for, or am I better off getting it done at a garage. I am pretty much mechnicaly minded so do not think the cylinder will be a problem but never done a beaaring b4 so would be gratful for advice.

They're easy enough, be sure to wear eye protection when you're removing the old bearing race as these tend to shatter. Also make sure you clean the hub prior to fitting and dress the new bearing properly. This is done by basically rubbing the supplied grease into the bearing, all the way round the edges, and into the top and bottom. Replace any split pins you remove with new ones and DO NOT over tighten the new bearing....hope that helps?

What you are descibing above is the fitment of a taper roller type bearing, these are not fitted to renault lagunas press fit bearings are interference fit into the rear brake drums you will instead need to remove the brake drum and use a press to remove the bearing and refit, no split pins and no grease required. Removing the drum is simple but a local garage may be better placed to press out the bearing should only take minutes to press out the old bearing and press in the new.
