Are parts hard to get for Japanese imports like the Toyota Elgrande?
Asked on 13 November 2024 by Robert Fiddy

While you won't necessarily find parts for a Nissan Elgrand or Toyota Alphard/Lucida (from your query, we suspect you're looking at both?) at your local motor factor, they're popular vehicles and are well supported by import specialists, or you can get parts delivered from Japan at beforward.co.jp. Almost everything you need is still available and they're generally very dependable vehicles.

There are a number of dealers importing Japanese cars. What are the snags I might not have thought about? Is insurance more expensive? Are spares harder to get hold of?

Do imported cars from Japan such as 2015-2018 Volvo V40 and Volkswagen Golf have less corrosion protection that the equivalent UK models? Apparently salt is not used to de-ice roads in Japan
