Volkswagen Golf (2009 - 2013)
Match 1.4 TSI DSG 5dr Auto Hatchback
Mainly does what it's says on the Tin
The 1.4 TSI engine offers great performance for its size. The economy is also worth mentioning it's not difficult to achieve 40mpg without trying too hard. The DSG box is a love hate affair for me, it's very smooth on the run but a bit jerky when parking or reversing,it's on or off . Mine has been repaired and is improved and I understand it's only been a problem with the 1.4 DSG box. The quality of materials is excellent and the car has a solid quality feel inside and out. No complaints with the ride it's very good.back to the box I don't like the way it forces a down change if you brake a tad when travelling downhill. A simple decline and you want to slow down a bit and suddenly you are in 3rd gear from 7th doing 3500 revs! You can override it of course by going manual if you plan your driving style. I would buy another except that the MK 7 has so few external changes it would not give me the feel good factor.
