Honda Jazz (2001 - 2008)
1.4i SE 5dr Auto Hatchback
Had it 6 years, must be OK........
.......yes it is OK, it's economical (I've kept a check over 52,000 miles, 47.90mpg!), it's never let us down, a delight to drive with the CVT box, reasonably comfortable, even on a long journey, it's fully equipped as standard though a MP3 input would be nice now, a few extra's I added when new made it even better (centre armrest, rear spoiler and city pack protectors), the only thing I miss is 'cruise'. Yes the vehicle has been OK and I'd reccomend it.
Downsides, the handbrake is and always has been poor, it's had 3 mot's, 2 independent and the last one main dealer, curious the main dealer never mentioned the dodgy hand brake but both the independents gave 'advisory notices'. The steering can feel strange at speed. In cold temperatures the engine rattles for a mile or so. It's only major fault is the CVT box, it had the new fluid a couple of years ago but the judder is back. Needs sorting.
I'd have another but late model CVT's are hard to find, when I do come across one the dealers always want silly money.
Apart from the sales guy that sold us the vehicle I've never 'got on' with any of the 3 Honda dealers we have nearby, they all have a pompus attitude and tend to look down on Jazz owners. Service costs are too high.
