  Circumstances have forced me into buying a cheap car quickly. After splashing out £700 on a 'S' plate Fiat Marea Weekend HLX, fully-loaded, which looks and goes well. Apart from the hideous name, do they really deserve the bad write-up that HJ has given it?

  My old cavvy needs a weld - the n/s sill, right at the back by the wheel arch. It may need new dampers. This for an MOT. I could fit the dampers, at least at the back - I've never done front ones for this model. Anu guesstimates as to cost?

  Just picked up a set of Vauxhall alloys off a late C Reg Nova GTE to put on our Corsa. They are fitted with 155/70 13R Dunlop SP9's and we need to know recommended tyre pressures for these. We have a Corsa manual but this size tyre is not listed. Thanks in advance!

  A neighbour has just bought a 2001 Y reg 1.0 litre polo and I offered to do an oil & filter change as they need to drive it away tomorrow AM and the oil is in a poor state. Can anyone confirm that the oil filter is located in the N/S wing and if the sump plug is a straightforward socket job

  Sure this has been raised before! My 1989 BX GTI 1900 cc has an annoying rattle when driven from the front o/s. It is more obvious when decelerating. 2 garages have checked and can find no obvious cause ie ball joints/ track rod ends are fine. Any ideas?

  Any of you guys know the correct tyure pressure for a Clio Dci 1.5, 3 doors and the 65bhp version. The tyre size is 185/55/15. The owners manual only gives tyre pressures for Dci s with a smaller tyre size. My tyre size is also fitted to a 1.6 petrol version but iam not sure if the pressures

  My votes: 612 Scaglietti. Current 911 Carerra 2. Megane 225. Pre 2004 Golf R32. Seat Leon Cupra R, titanium coloured alloys. 18" split rims optional on Mondeo Zetec S etc, not the 18" ST alloys. Pre 2005 3 Series Sport models, one of the two common types of 18" alloy. X-Type Sport.

  Vehicle: Golf Mk4 1400 S, 60k miles. Symptoms: Engine is chucking up oil into the air filter as well as leaving deposits of oil on the ground. Oil deposits are blackened despite a recent engine oil & filter replacement. Engine starts OK and drives seemingly normal. No unusual noises either
