  • Praise for a Renault Scenic. 25 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Had one as a hire car today. Shattered a few illusions, Strong 1.9 diesel, smooth and quiet thing linked to a very nice 6 speed box, nice electronic hand-brake. Seemingly as well made, good radio but a blinking fustrating heated rear window - the timer interval is unreal. Yes, I could buy one if I

Have I picked a piece of grit that only rubs when turning right. Any thoughts

I had the 1.6 estate back in the late eighties. The chassis turned into paper and I part exchanged it and got £100. I received a phone call two months later asking if I was still the owner as it had been nicked and abandoned in Stafford. The brakes were awful. I had to pump them to get the thing

  • rusted bleed valve nut! 1 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Just changed a brake hose on my mk2 golf. I've come to bleed the system but can't open the bleed valve as the nut is rusted. I've tried some penetrating fluid but it does not budge. The nut is begining to become rounded so that a spanner will soon have no grip on it. If I can't open the nut what
  • cleaning alloys 8 May 2003 (Forum)
Having recently acquired my first alloy-powered car, are there any tips, do's and don'ts when it comes to caring for alloys. I'm used to applying the magic sponge to car wheels and I'm sort of conscious that the brakes are rather more visible with alloys than with normal wheels. Would car wash

  • Rear ending, what to do? 21 Nov 2001 (Forum)

What's the best thing to do (other than pray) ... sit hard back in the seat? ... foot hard on the brake? ... head position? ... hands on/off
