Vauxhall Vectra (2002 - 2008)
Design 1.9 CDTi (120ps) 5dr Hatchback
Good but still not the class contender
When I first saw the new Vectra I was not a huge fan of the looks. I thought it looked too big, too American and boxy. It even lost the Vectras infamous aerodynamic wing mirrors (even though I have to say, gives limited view of whats coming behind). But then I drove it, and boy, was it an improvement. Apart from the irritating indicator stalk which is a pain, it just felt some much more composed and precise than the old car which was stodgy, to say the least and also keeping the the comfort and refinement of any Vauxhall. But even though its very good, its STILL not as good as it rival, the Mondeo (a typical Ford trait). Nevrtheless, the new Vectra is a vast leap in terms of driver enjoyment and space (the estate is truly canervous) over its predessor. Reliable too
