Is Volkswagen in trouble?

I am seriously contemplating purchasing a brand new VW Tiguan but am very concerned about the headlines saying VW are just about to close down three of its factories. Should I be worried?

Although it has been reported that Volkswagen is considering closing three factories in Germany amid financial difficulties, this would still leave the manufacturer with seven factories in Germany as well as more than 100 other locations around the world, so this is not something that should affect your plans.
