What should I look at when buying a used car that has stood for six months?
I may have the opportunity to buy a Ford Fiesta from a friend who is emigrating to New Zealand. It is a 2017 Automatic 1.0 Ecoboost . By the time they flyout, it may not have been driven for six months. Are there things I should be aware before discussing a purchase price ?

Even when buying from a friend you should have an open mind when assessing a used car - you can read our comprehensive guide to buying a used car here - www.honestjohn.co.uk/advice/car-buying-advice/buyi...r
As the car has been unused for six months, it is possible that the battery will be flat, the tyres may have lost pressure and components such as the brakes may be sticky or even seized, so it is important to check the condition of these items and fluids such as oil and water before attempting to start it. As always, service history is very important and we would not recommend buying a car without one.
