Vauxhall Astra (2015 - 2022)
1.4 Sri Petrol 99 bhp
Poor build quality, unsettling drive and slow
I bought a 1.4 astra sri petrol 99 Bhp on PCP in February 2021. I had to change it soon after purchasing, as I could not manage to enjoy this car and keep it. The car was stylish to look at and the space was excellent, also the technical features were very good. However, all these positive aspects could in no way compromise for the unacceptable build quality and drive in my view, which was not noticeable until having the car a few days. In terms of build quality: the driver's door handle area squeeked. I found the seats very hard when driving just 30 miles on the motorway and decided to turn back home. The car is extremely jerky on rough country roads or over any bumps or potholes. I felt unsafe and thought something had gone wrong with the car at one point. There was a rattling sensation in the gearstick. Also on the motorway the car was extremely slow and this was bordering on dangerous. A very chuggy drive, like driving a bus and noisy too. Overall, the car is nice to look at but do not buy a 1.4 Sri Petrol 99 Bhp. I thought this would be powerful enough but this was not the case. Also, consider if you want comfortable seats and a smooth, powerful drive because this car is not delivering these features. To be honest the whole car is below standard for this year and I think it is overrated in general.
