Honda Jazz (2008 - 2015)
1.4 i-VTEC EX 99 5dr Hatchback
More enjoyable than you would think
I bought the Jazz on head rather than heart considerations. I was doing a small annual mileage, needed decent space for taking stuff to the tip and also space for our toddler grandson. I also wanted reliability. The Jazz delivered all I wanted in spades but an added bonus was how enjoyable it is to drive. This goes against all the reports which say that it is a bit, well, dull.
My feelings are that the opposite is true. The slick gearchange, the ample torque at low revs makes town driving an unexpected pleasure and this is the type of driving I do most of. The shear driveability means you can actually concentrate on the road and not on any shortcomings of the car. You can actually concentrate on driving and rediscover what a pleasure it can be even on the supermarket run.
I have also done a couple of longish drives with 4 (overweight males) up and it has coped well with this type of driving as well. Sure, if I did a lot of motorway driving then I'd want something with a bit more power but this car is a joy to own and a pleasure to drive.
