Great car - fun, economical, good looking

I bought the car as new and have covered 40,000 miles in almost 4 years. It gets used for commuting (16 miles each way, mixture of roads), local driving and some long journeys. It took a while for the diesel engine to bed in, but since then I'd be very disappointed not to get 54 mpg across my mix of journeys (though that dropped significantly during the very cold weather of 2010!).

The cabin is very comfortable and very flexible, although the steering wheel is a touch too low to allow all of the seat height adjustments that I might like. Road holding is magnificent, and tyres seem to last well (15-16K miles for the fronts, 25K for the rears). There is some intrusive road noise, though, which is slightly tiring on a long journey.

Rear visibility is pretty much non-existent - reverse parking is no fun! Also the spoiler that splits the rear screen does create a significant blind spot in the rear mirror.

The front doors open very wide - take care in car parks - but are easy to get in and out of. I'm glad I don't travel in the back too often, as that 's fine once you are seated, but it's not quite so easy to get in.

Would I buy a new one? Yes, like a shot if I could get the 2.2 diesel! What a shame it's no longer available.
