Honda Civic (2006 - 2011)
2.2i CTDi S 3dr Hatchback
Capable and practical
Surprisingly quick and precise steering. This car I would recommend to anyone who wants a fun to drive and practical vehicle. It is relatively rare and looks much better than both the Golf and Focus.
What's good
- Extremely strong and flexible diesel engine.
- Very precise steering.
- Relatively large trunk with a large opening.
- Special design that attracts attention.
- Reliable.
- A lot of equipment for the money.
What's bad
- Not as fuel efficient as Honda claims.
- Poor visibility backwards.
- Rear view camera or sensors should have been standard equipment.
- Poor quality of some of the plastics used in the dashboard, some squeaks here and there.
Problems I have experienced
- Oil level lamp has lit even if the level is correct. (Requires reprogramming on warranty)
- Brake discs have been replaced of 70,000 km due to rust and wear. The brakes hung because the pads were rusted stuck in calipers.
- Poor paintwork, easily chipped.
Note:
The problems with the rear brakes seems to be a standard Honda problem. My second car was a '99 Honda Accord 1.8 IES. This car had exactly the same problem, but it was fixed under the 5 year warranty. Its pretty strange that this problem is still present.
